Overview of Role
This is a fulltime position reporting to the Site Manager, Northern Region, and will be based in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. Working closely with the Operations, Sales and Supply Chain Teams you will lead a team of around 12 staff across 5 shifts to effectively manage and streamline the warehouse and distribution activities for the Acacia Ridge Operation. You will oversee the receipt, storage, and despatch of goods with the focus on exceeding customer expectations whilst driving a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
The Warehouse Manager - Acacia Ridge will be responsible for:
- Demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, with a strong focus on housekeeping and traffic management standards.
- Managing daily workflow in a fast-paced picking environment.
- Continuously reviewing current techniques and procedures and recommending and implementing improvements.
- Continually reviewing warehouse layout and material flow to ensure efficient space utilisation and safe traffic management protocols.
- Driving continuous improvement around all aspects of inbound/outbound operations.
- Ensuring all documentation is processed in a timely manner, e.g. print labels and consignment notes.
- Ensuring a high level of raw material availability to support the production schedule.
- Conducting weekly cycle counts and annual stocktakes in line with stocktake schedules, with explanations for any significant variance.
- Manage stock movements and stock control processes with a focus on Inventory Record Accuracy.
- Scheduling the loading/unloading of trucks and containers.
- Performance management of direct reports, conduct and attend operational meetings.
- Conducting monthly pallet counts and reconciling with CHEP documentation.
- Controlling the hours of work to ensure wages are maintained within the budgeted limits.
- Championing the understanding of COR to ensure compliance to relevant road transport safety legislation.
- Accountability for all freight and distribution costs to maintain budget.
- Ensure that open, direct and respectful communication is practiced across the site.
- All standards ISO, HACCP, GMP and AIB standards and practices are achieved.
The right candidate will be or have:
- Energetic with a focus on delivering results and leading the site management team.
- Commercially astute and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
- People management experience with proven ability to support the development of high performing work teams.
- Proven warehouse & management experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Expertise in warehouse procedures and best practices.
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills - with good Excel spreadsheet and ERP capabilities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in Warehousing & Management positions, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
