This will be a single investments business specialising in multiple facets of investment management including product, packaging and solutions to meet the various client objectives now and in the future. The core strategy is to deepen relationships with clients and expand into new innovative solutions that will capture and grow market share including mass market and bespoke investment solutions (e.g. managed portfolios, annuities and institutional banking products). Proprietary BTFG products will be distributed through both existing and new distribution channels such as direct, digital and international.
About the Role:As a key member of the Chief Investment Officer’s Senior Leadership team (SLT), the Head of Interest Rates is a senior investment professional role working directly with the Chief Investment Officer with overall responsibility for: Portfolio construction decisions for every BTIS interest rate portfolio, Developing and maintaining BT’s interest rate manager research process & Researching and specifying suitable manager mandates. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and implement key interest rate strategies across the full suite of BT multi-asset portfolios and elsewhere, ensuring that outcomes are in line with the objectives set by the CIO or delegate, e.g. the Head of Asset Allocation and other objectives and constraints, e.g. fee, return or risk budgets
- Research peer best practice with a view to improving portfolio outcomes at the multi-asset portfolio level
- Research new investment strategies and asset classes with regard to risk and return characteristics
- Conduct investment related research into asset allocation and portfolio construction techniques as they pertain to interest rate portfolios
- Manage, direct and retain a team of highly skilled portfolio management professionals promoting professional development and a high performance culture
