About the role
Seeking an experienced WHS Officer who will review, maintain and look for improvements with our Safety Management System (ISO) whilst assisting on site project managers maintain site compliance across works. Looking for a talented WHS guru that can work closely with our proactive, safety conscience team of trades and office team members. This will include:
- Ensuring on site compliance through site audits (across GC & BNE), mentor trades on WHS compliance and requirements
- Ensuring our safety management system fully complies with all applicable standards, legislative requirements and client expectations
- Provide advice to senior management and employees in relation to work health and safety compliance and initiatives
- Identify internal and external safety training needs for the company and implement accordingly
- Coordinate the company's internal and external audit and inspection processes
- Provide leadership, training and support to all employees in relation to the implementation of the safety management system
- Facilitate toolbox meetings
- Facilitate the company's hazard identification and risk management processes
- Coordinate our incident reporting and investigation processes ensuring all incidents are investigated and closed out appropriately
- Develop and implement emergency response procedures throughout the company
- Assist with coordinating the companies injury management, rehabilitation and return to work program
To be successful in this role you must have the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant qualification in WHS or related field
- Minimum 1 years experience in a similar role
- Trade experience will be looked on favourably
- Willingness to obtain a test and tag certificate
- Experience developing and implementing safety systems compliant to AS/NZS 4801, 9001, 14001
- Experience implementing cultural change and leadership programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, and have a proven ability to come up with workable solutions;
- Be willing to undergo a Police Check and in line with clients condition of entry requirements (childcare/ Aged Care) hold/be willing to obtain a Working with Children Card and hold current Covid vaccination status
