We are looking for 2 Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisors to join the team on a permanent full time basis. This is a great opportunity to become part of a dedicated, enthusiastic and dynamic team with a great culture. Build effective relationships with the frontline management and Executive leaders of NSW Health Pathology as part of our integral WH&S Team.
Where you'll be workingPosition 1 - Based at Liverpool looking after South Western Sydney Regions and Forensic and Analytical Science Services
Position 2 - Based at Royal North Shore looking after North Sydney and Central Coast Areas including Corporate Offices

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of this position is to act as a focal point for Work Health & Safety (WHS) and wellbeing matters to assist NSWHP in meeting compliance with statutory requirements and strategic directions including:
Working closely onsite with frontline management and Executive in the implementation of the NSWHP WHS (including manual handling) management system
Supporting and presenting appropriate training courses and encouraging staff to participate in relevant training course
Supporting and facilitating WHS consultation processes within NSWHP including providing direct support and advice to Health & Safety Committees and Health and Safety representatives (HSRs)

Relevant qualifications in WHS (minimum Certificate IV in WHS) and a range of experience, skills and knowledge in operational WHS; and/or a range of experience, skills and knowledge in hazardous manual task handling program development and implementation.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or experience in developing and implementing instructional/educational programs for an adult learning environment.
Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of the NSW WHS Legislation.
Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
Demonstrated high level negotiation and facilitation skills and commitment to customer service.
Demonstrated effective time management and ability to work in a complex environment with competing priorities and conflicting deadlines.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, peers and other key stakeholders.
Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases. All recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. All recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
All NSW Health workers are required to have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as defined by NSW Health. Employees working in a clinical area or are required to attend clinical areas are considered category A. Category A positions are required to provide evidence of having received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (TGA) and meet the requirements of the Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
