Work health and safety consultant

OverviewThe right applicant will be committed to a strategic, systematic, integrated approach to WHS and wellbeing management, and the promotion of a healthy workforce in the context of a patient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS and/or equivalent professional experience in WHS or risk management in the Healthcare sector.
• Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development, implementation and review of, WHS Management Systems (such WHS policies, procedures and programs) that leads to improved WHS performance of organisations.
• Responding effectively to WHS incidents and conducting formal investigations using a defined methodology.
• Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development, implementation and review of WHS training programs.
• Experience in the use of incident and claims data systems to develop proposed WHS risk reduction strategies, initiatives and programs.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating WHS change in a large and diverse work environment with multiple site locations.
• Report health and safety hazards, injuries and incidents in line with procedures.
• Hold a high-level skills in active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution and other communication (oral and written).

Experience Required

• Ability to coordinate programs and projects in a high volume work environment whilst managing competing priorities.
• Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
• Background within Health & Safety Advisor or Consultant.
• Experience working within the health industry or similar.
• Qualification in WHS or related discipline.
