With a workforce that is constantly expanding, safety is a top priority in every department, including production, maintenance and livestock.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager of People & Culture, the WHS Manager has an incredible opportunity to make their mark in the safety space! Working closely with all departments, our client is looking for someone with a passion for creating a positive, supportive and safe working environment for every single person in the business. Managing a team of two safety officers, our client is looking for someone hands-on, knowledgeable and highly experienced.
What does a day-to-day look like?
If you've worked in WHS, you'll know that every day is different! However, a typical day in the life could include (and isn't limited to):
- Monitoring WHS performance including compliance with external regulations and standards and internal policy and procedures
- Preparing, implementing, reviewing, and maintaining (WHSEMS) Safety Management System documentation
- Ensuring that workers are equipped with the information, instruction, training and supervision that they need to work safely
- Accessing sources of WHS information and systematically disseminate information to all workers
- Incident investigation and reporting
- Conducting WHS inspections, reviewing and recording instances of non-compliance and monitor any corrective measures
- Liaising with regulators (Safework) and participating in external assurance audits
- Conducting and reviewing risk assessments
- Coaching, leading and ensuring WHS requirements are met at all times
- Preparing, facilitating, monitoring, evaluating and documenting training activities
Are you the perfect candidate? You have:
- A minimum of 5 years working in a work, Health & Safety role
- Been told you have a fresh outlook & passion for safety!
- A natural flair for working with people. You genuinely enjoy working in a team-environment.
- A drive to hit that 'next level' from an improvement perspective
- Full working rights in Australia
Huge PLUS if you tick these boxes too:
- Cert IV in training and/or experience in organisational training
- An industry background in manufacturing and/or food processing
- Experience working in a leadership role managing a team of safety professionals
