About This Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Compliance Officer to join the Placement Ready Team within our world-leading Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences.
In this role you will initiate, monitor and report on the compliance of all students enrolled in programs with a WIL component within the Faculty. This will involve coordinating and undertaking a range of administrative activities to ensure our students meet the pre-placement compliance requirements for their discipline. You will also work closely with individual Placement Managers and relevant Academic staff to provide advice and ensure our students receive the best possible experience prior to their placements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Initiate, process, monitor and maintain accurate records of student compliance for a wide range of existing and emerging pre-placement compliance requirements including but not limited to Working with Children checks, Disability Worker Screening checks, Criminal History checks, Immunisations, CPR, First Aid and UQ Placement Safety Training, travel declarations, and Queensland Health requirements.
Design, monitor, analyse, interpret, and compile reports using a variety of enterprise systems including the University’s Placement Management System (InPlace), and combine large datasets from various sources to report on the compliance and non-compliance of students.
Develop an extensive, specialised knowledge base related to pre-placement compliance and continuously build on existing knowledge in this area. Use this knowledge and judgement to apply a complex set of rules to provide interpretation, advice, and decisions. Clearly communicate this advice to both staff and students.
Understand and maintain currency with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements related to pre-placement compliance and be able to manage multiple disciplines each with their own specific requirements.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with Placement Managers and Academic staff, negotiate processes and deadlines and demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure that business requirements are met, and the required standard of service delivery is achieved.
Prepare clear, high-quality responses and advice on placement compliance to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that all queries are responded to in a professional, timely and accurate manner and actioned with high attention to detail.
Organise and deliver staff and student pre-placement compliance information sessions and provide administrative assistance for other events as required.
Provide face-to-face support and other consultations services (Video Call, Phone, CRM chat) direct to students related to their compliance requirements.
This is a full-time, fixed term position for 12 months commencing ASAP.

At HEW level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $75,878 - $84,342 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $88,778 - $98,681 annually.
About You
Completion of a degree level qualification with relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated ability to work under general direction and follow established procedures whilst contributing positively to an effective team through highly developed interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex rules, provide accurate and timely advice and handle sensitive matters confidentially.
A proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks, negotiate and meet competing deadlines and manage multiple tasks and large datasets.
High level of proficiency in the use of computer software packages and enterprise systems including databases, spreadsheets, and email with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours in order to meet critical deadlines. Leave restrictions may apply during peak periods.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with proven experience in preparing quality correspondence.
Experience in using InPlace Placement Management System, UniTask and UQ Reportal and the Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel would be advantageous.
