What you'll be doing
The Workforce Nurse Manager is responsible for Nursing and Midwifery recruitment and retention. The role will support the Director of Nursing and Midwifery services to achieve strategic and operational efficiency objectives for the Nursing workforce. The role will collaboratively work with the Nursing Executive, and NUMs to ensure effective, sustainable and efficient recruitment of Nurses and Midwives.
The Nurse Manager will:
- Lead Nursing and Midwifery recruitment
- Prepare and submit ATFs for nursing whilst adhering to recruitment policies and practice and support the maintenance of staffing profiles for wards/units.
- Implement selection strategies to ensure that the most appropriate personnel are selected
- Oversee documentation of each selection process
- Manage/coordinate a mechanism to estimate the monthly nursing staffing requirements
- Maintain statistical data
- Manage workforce related KPIs including PDRs, Mandatory training and excess leave
- Coordinate and participate in any nursing recruitment strategy as directed by the DONM Hornsby Hospital
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Recent senior nursing management experience in an acute setting supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing operational workforce matters at a senior level.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently analyse, interpret, respond to and manage key operational issues.
- Demonstrated experience and a proven track record in managing key priorities and delivering successful strategies and solutions using excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently recruit nursing staff and maintain workforce profiles at an organisational level.
