About the Department
The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.
About the Division
The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) guides the department's digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the department including Victorian government schools. The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.
IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.
About the Role
The newly established Portfolio Management team within the office of the Chief Information Officer, is responsible for the Division's workforce planning and supporting Information Management and Technology governance for the department, as well the wider Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG).
The Senior Administration Adviser - Workforce Planner will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective workforce planning within IMTD, developing a wholistic approach and implementing processes and tools that aid in resource allocation as part of portfolio planning.
Reporting into the Portfolio Manager, this role will be involved in collaborating with other Divisional and Executive Directors to maintain a comprehensive resource plan, contributing to the overall portfolio plan.
The Workforce Planner will drive the identification and resolution of resource gaps, providing resource utilisation reports for governance, and ensuring sound governance and data accuracy in line with department policies.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working in or supporting large technology delivery programs with multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high volume, workforce / portfolio planning environment
  • Proven ability to engage forward-thinking and technology exploration
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, with the ability to provide effective issue resolution to difficult and complex problems
  • Providing leadership and guidance with a focus on improving team skills and potential.
  • Strong Communication skills with experience in providing clear communication and upholding values.
