The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our successfully busy and growing Mackay branch in the position of Workshop Coordinator.
Reporting to the Service Supervisor you will be responsible for planning, organising and supervising the service workshop operations to meet customer requirements, while working closely with your team to achieve department budgets and KPI’s.
As a key member of the team your duties will be to:
Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilisation of equipment and resources
Positively enable and motivate workshop fitters and apprentices who are reporting to you, to be the best that they can be whilst having safety at the forefront of everything they do
Effective and efficient resource and labour allocations for timely service delivery and OEM level excellence
Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate Total Customer Satisfaction in machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty
Ensure HCA employees and contractors comply with all WHS responsibilities and that a safety first culture is a consistent behaviour within the department
Apply QA processes and ensure compliance of these systems to all Workshop jobs
WIP Management of Workshop Work Orders – Cost control and actively looking to improve processes and efficiencies
About you – to be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Relevant diesel or mobile plant mechanic trade qualifications
Similar supervisory experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to guide your team to work cohesively
Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles
Experience in the maintenance of earthmoving equipment (Hitachi equipment would be an advantage)
Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities
The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – a high level of emphasis on keeping all stakeholders informed of work progress
