Youth Outreach provides housing support for young people 16-25 years. We are committed to ending the cycle of homelessness and providing greater access to affordable and sustainable housing opportunities.
We are looking for a Youth Outreach Worker who is passionate about assisting young people to create the future they want. We also expect that you will have the ability to align with our mission, values, and purpose.
Outreach Workers assist young people living in the community who are seeking accommodation and support.
This position is a full-time role - 76 hours per fortnight.
- Demonstrable ability to assist young people to gain, maintain and understand independent housing pathways.
- Ability to advocate for young people.
- Ability to assist in the development of independent living and life skills.
- Experienced in strength-based, person-centered approaches.
- Ability to provide holistic case management
- Ability to assist young people to connect to community support, networks and participate in co-case management practices.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a team.
Completion of Key Selection Criteria is required to be considered.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in housing, youth work, mental health or related discipline that provides a sound foundation of knowledge, skills and abilities required at this level.
- Meet and maintain the conditions of employment relating to blue card, criminal history screen open licence holder and first aid & CPR.
