UNSW College is looking for an Accommodation Officer to join our wonderful Student Wellbeing Team! The successful candidate is an excellent communicator, with strong problem solving skills and a passion to help international students. Ability to speak another language other than English would be advantageous What will you do? The Accommodation Officer provides UNSW College students with a range of accommodation services including providing information about accommodation options available to students, assistance with application process, helping students resolve accommodation related issues and processing airport reception requests. The Accommodation Officer is also responsible for providing information about and approving under 18 student’s accommodation for students who are requesting Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) from UNSW College in accordance with UNSW College policies and procedures. The Accommodation Officer provides accommodation booking support and arranges Sydney airport pick up arrangements for all UNSW College students, and specific responsibility for the management and compliance of Under 18 students who hold a UNSW College Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) and are required to stay in College approved accommodation. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Proactively contact future and soon-to-commence UNSW College students to offer accommodation booking support and airport pick up arrangements whilst they are still in their home countries or cities. Ensure that they have accommodation booked before arriving in Sydney. Provide excellent customer service and support to all UNSW College students in helping them to resolve accommodation issues during their studies. Manage all Under 18 Accommodation requirements; CAAW accommodation applications, conduct regular U18 accommodation inspections, arrange necessary airport pick up services, change of accommodation requests, and ensure safe accommodation plans for U18 students during gaps in study periods from UNSW College to UNSW. These expectations are in line with UNSW College policies, procedures and the National Code of Practice. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with accommodation providers, UNSW Accommodation team, and internal stakeholders so that your communication is accurate, timely, and student accommodation matters are effectively managed. The successful applicant will have (but not limited to): You have a keen understanding of the student and rental accommodation market in Sydney You have worked in a busy customer service environment where you are known as a problem solver and positive contributor. You use Microsoft Office and work well with detailed documentation, information management and data entry. You enjoy dealing with a wide range of people from international backgrounds. You have good presentation skills including excellent in-person, over the phone and email communications skills.
