The Account Manager is responsible for business devolvement and sales growth, building and maintaining long lasting customer relationships and ensuring that the profit Centre operates in alignment with business goals, objectives and strategy.
They will operate as a point of contact for any and all matters specific to their area of responsibility. This may include contracts, projects and ad-hoc engagements. They will be responsible for developing & maintaining strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives & stakeholders, answering customer queries and identifying new business opportunities. They will also provide timely and effective communication back to the business and liaise with cross-functional internal teams to improve the entire customer and employee experience
Core Accountabilities of the role:
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Build and maintain safe, competent, reliable execution teams
- Develop trusted relationships with key accounts and customer stakeholders
- Maintain a pipeline of work by negotiating contracts and closing agreements to maximise business outcomes and minimise risk
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop diverse business opportunities aligned to the overall business strategy
- Work with customers to identify areas of improvement to meet business objectives
- Forecast and track key account metrics (monthly results and budget forecasts)
- Prepare reports and maintain a library of intellectual property
- Identify and grow opportunities within areas of responsibility
- Provide support and coaching to develop direct reports
- Tertiary degree in engineering or similar is desirable but not essential
- Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Engineering Manager, Business Development Manager, Operational Leader or similar role
- Exposure to heavy industry e.g. Engineering, Asset Management, Maintenance positions is highly desirable
- Demonstrable experience in maintaining budgets & forecasts and having sound financial acumen
- Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
- Experience delivering customer-focused solutions to customer needs
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
