We are a group of family-owned businesses located in Malaga. Each of our entities has its dedicated accounts team. Currently, we are in search of an Accountant to enhance efficiency and supervise all financial activities. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the Finance Team, helping the management team in reporting and compliance (HR and Quality), and ensuring uniformity in Administration, Finance, and HR processes and procedures across the entire group.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise day-to-day operations and offer support to the accounts team across the entire group, including an overseas entity.
- Handle BAS/PAYG/Payroll Tax/FBT lodgements for all entities.
- Reconcile financial statements and bank statements to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies.
- Manage and maintain records of fixed assets, depreciation, loans register, and asset disposal.
- Maintain the 3-way financial model to facilitate future planning.
- Execute monthly reporting to Directors/Shareholders.
- Assist in R&D/grant funding applications and their management.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Effectively manage cash flow and optimize working capital.
- Establish and uphold adequate systems and controls for the Finance Department.
- Supervise the maintenance of all relevant insurances, negotiating rates to ensure optimal value for each company.
- Take charge of monitoring compliance across all entities (ASIC, HR, etc.) and manage all related documentation.
About you
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
- Sound knowledge and application of accounting ‘best practices’ and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial management and reporting, managing payroll and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Single Touch Payroll (STP) and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding and experience in HR processes and other HR related tasks.
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well organised and have strong time management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanour and approachable nature.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in the delivery of professional outputs.
