Accountant (General)

Position Description

We are looking for a hardworking, commercially focused and astute Accountant to join our business based at Auburn, NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for financial reporting, internal auditing, preparing financial forecasts and analysing budgetary considerations relevant to our day-to-day business operations.

Primary Duties:

• Analyse operating costs both income and expenditure and maintain all accounts receivable and payable including, accounts with overseas tile and stone factories and shipping agents.
• Analyse monthly results and formulate budgetary considerations with a view to optimising cash flow for the business.
• Prepare compliance-based financial documentation including, monthly IAS, Quarterly BAS, Financial statements, P & L and annual tax returns
• Undertake monthly wages processing, ongoing superannuation payments to all staff and examine expenses submitted by employees.
• Prepare cash flow financial forecasts based on monthly earnings and losses and report to both General Manager and Directors on variances, budgetary considerations and financial trajectory for the business.
• Report directly to the company General Manager on completion of all month-end procedure and Annual Financial Reporting obligations such as, finalisation of financial statements, tax returns and annual-revised company accounting frameworks such as hedging policies.
• Examine multi-currency bank statements, reconcile them with general ledger entries and report any variances.
• Manage foreign exchange register, particularly due to the company's ongoing transactions between overseas tile and stone factories.

Skills/Experience Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor level degree in Accounting, Commerce or similar.
• At least 2 years' experience in Accounting role or similar.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, organised and commercial astute
• Demonstrated ability to maximise financial potential of the business through completion of effective financial reporting, budgeting and management of internal accounting information systems

Salary: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
