About the Role
Based in Cleveland and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will have responsibility for assisting and supporting the delivery of the day-to-day responsibilities and finance functions within identified timeframes to ensure seamless and efficient processes are met.
Key Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day accounts/finance processes, including:
Prepare Payroll Tax, BAS including fuel tax credits, PAYG, FBT
Lodge returns and process payments to ATO, OSR, WorkCover
Monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient funds for payments
Check creditor payment batches, ensuring all invoices are authorised for payment
Load payments to banking transactive and co-ordinate payments and authorisations
Process and reconcile corporate credit card transactions
Review creditors to ensure correct coding/GST treatment of all invoices
Perform contract revenue and fuel adjustment calculations for invoicing
Assist with contract details enquiries
Support the EOM and EOFY processes, including:
Maintain fuel summaries for all locations
Process end-of-month general ledger journals
Review and/or finalise bank reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations
Payroll reconciliations
About You
We are looking for someone with proven experience in the smooth running of accounting operations with great accuracy in accounts, billing and reporting. Your prior knowledge and proficiency with financial accounting systems, word and excel will be highly regarded.

Tertiary qualification's relevant to the position
A high level of self-motivation with the ability to effectively work autonomously and as part of a diverse team
Commitment to delivering against team and Company deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A high level of experience in stakeholder management
Commercially astute with high level of computer literacy with advanced skills in Excel and financial software
Previous experience in a similar role
Committed to providing excellent customer service
Excellent time management skills
Prior experience working in a similar or related industry would be advantageous.
