The Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant or Client Manager you will be a key player in enabling Kelly+Partners’ next phase of growth. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the broader management team and will have at least 5+ years recent experience in a public practice environment. A competitive remuneration package is offered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the Partner, Manager and the team to ensure client work is completed within the timeframe allocated
• Be responsible for the provision of high-quality services to a portfolio of SME clients on compliance and advisory issues, financial reporting, ATO compliance, business advice, structuring, tax planning, superannuation and evaluation of client accounting systems.
• Complete income tax returns for individuals, company’s, trusts, partnerships and super funds within the assigned deadline and productivity target.
• Identify if the client has complied with the superannuation guarantee.
• Preparation of annual workers compensation reconciliations.
• Preparation of annual payroll tax reconciliations.
• Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS).
• Preparation of Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) returns including the calculation of liability from the information provided by the client.
• Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients including the ATO and ASIC
• Have expertise in the delegation and review of work and provision of mentoring and development of staff
• Provide commitment in providing exceptional service to our clients
Selection Criteria

Capabilities:
• Identify any inconsistencies in the current year balances through comparative analysis on balance sheet items.
• Prepare financial statements from an adjusted trial balance, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and statements of retained earnings.
• Access and research information, including the use of electronic sources (Thomson Reuters on-line and the OSR and ATO websites).
• Strong communication, attention to detail, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• A desire to mentor and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge:
• Broad understanding of income tax (and allowable measures to reduce tax), family tax benefit, company tax, fundamentals of trust law and superannuation provisions.
• Superannuation including taxation and regulatory issues.
• Business operations, structures and the dynamics of how they interact.
• Accounting standards and application
• Cash versus accruals basis of accounting
• Use tax software efficiently and effectively to complete work within deadlines.
Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience in a Chartered Accounting Practice with Superfund experience
• Preparation of Financial Statements and BAS’s
• Preparation of accurate financial accounts without direction and with minimal review points
• Be Degree qualified, CA/CPA completed.
Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand Certified or near completion.
• Master's or Bachelor’s degree in commerce or similar
