Accounting Officer

Join the ACM team on this 4 month contract opportunity as a Financial Officer

ACM is currently recruiting for an Accounting Officer role on behalf of our client, a local government council. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a background in accounting or finance to support financial management initiatives and provide expert assistance in developer contribution calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage a local governments Developer Contributions registers.
• Provide guidance and support to customers and internal stakeholders
• Reporting enhancements and financial planning processes for Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan.
• Collaborate on Financial Projects and Initiatives

Essential Requirements:

• Possession of tertiary qualifications (or in progress) in accounting or finance-related discipline.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in applying accounting policies and procedures.
• Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on reconciliation.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, particularly financial spreadsheets.
• Proven track record of working effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, 1979
• Experience using Civica Authority application and Budget Software.
