About The Role
We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our finance department with accounts payable/receivable tasks. This is a part-time position, working 25 hours across Monday to Friday with flexible work options. Reporting to the Finance Manager, key responsibilities will include:
- Processing of Accounts Payable/Receivable;
- Manage and respond to all student financial related enquiries;
- Process course amendments in line with the Commercial Policy;
- Process invoices, expense claims and payments accurately and efficiently;
- Reconciliation of bank statements and resolution of any discrepancies;
- Monitor purchase order requests and reconcile to Credit card statements;
- Assist with month-end closing activities;
- Create routine and ad hoc financial reporting;
- Monthly general ledger reconciliations;
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation;
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting;
- Assist with other ad-hoc finance and office administration tasks as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who has an awesome work ethic, is pro-active, well organised and who possesses a can-do attitude.
Ideally you will have:
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- A minimum of 12 months’ Accounts Payable/Receivable experience
- Experience with digital accounting platforms such as Xero or similar
- A good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Positive attitude and proactive approach to tasks
- Ability to work independently and meet key timelines
- A collaborative approach – you enjoy working in a team environment.
- Desirable - previous experience in the education sector or with an RTO.
