About the Role
The Trusts and Accounts team handles trusts transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, client investment accounts, and staff reimbursements.
As Accounts Officer you will play a key role in supporting the Accounts and Trusts team tasks with the efficient maintenance, reconciliation, and processing of transactions.
This role will work closely with the Reporting & Analysis Team, Credit Team, and practice groups.
Responsibilities
The is a hands-on role focused on:
- daily payments of creditor disbursements and payment of general suppliers
- handling of the accounts inbox for queries and resolution
- reconciliation of payment entries and supplier statements
- allocation of daily receipts and reconciliation in the system
- process credit card payments and staff reimbursements
- review and processing of fully approved claims
- setting up profiles and management of users
- trust receipts and payments including Trust to office and Office to Trust
- handling of dormant balances and unallocated receipts
- generating Month end reports
- set up, maintain investment accounts and controlled monies accounts
- reconciliation and month end reporting of CMA accounts
About You
- suitable candidates will bring demonstrated experience working in an account's role in a finance function.
- Law firm experience is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of general accounting processes
- A proficiency in data entry and a strong attention to detail
- Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise work to meet key deliverables and deadlines
- A passion for customer service
- intermediate Microsoft Office (word & excel) knowledge skills
- the ability to work through tasks and problems autonomously and exercise sound judgement on when to escalate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, an ability to interact with people of all levels and establish strong relationships
