Trader House is seeking a Part TimeAccounts Officer (Monday to Wednesday) to join their established & professional team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be based in a spacious, light-filled office in the CBD, and work alongside a wider Finance team.
Trader House is a collective of restaurants, bars, and specialty retail stores by Melbourne-based chef, cookbook author and columnist Andrew McConnell and photographer Jo McGann. They are Gimlet at Cavendish House, Apollo Inn, Cutler & Co., Supernormal, Cumulus Inc., Marion, Builders Arms Hotel,
Meatsmith Heritage Butcher and Morning Market.
Role Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Processing - Accurately processing of accounts payable, including data entry and supplier payments
- Bank Account Reconciliation – including reconciling accounts on a regular basis, investigating and resolving any discrepancies or issues and maintaining accurate records.
- Data Entry - Enter accounting data accurately and efficiently into accounting system ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Internal Reporting – including assisting the preparation of financial reports, generating ad hoc reports for managers as required and providing support to the finance and leadership teams.
- Ad Hoc Tasks - Assist with ad hoc accounts-related tasks, including reconciliations, and responding to inquiries from suppliers and stakeholders.
Role Requirements:
- Experience - Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in accounts office, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Software Proficiency - Proficient in using accounting software, particularly MYOB, Lightyear, MS Excel or similar systems.
- Attention to Detail - High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing and data entry.
- Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with managers, and external stakeholders.
- Organisational Skills / Team player - Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide support to colleagues as needed.
- Confidentiality - Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
