Accounts Payable Officer

Califam Constructions are a civil construction company seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to assist with accounts checking and preparation for payment. Applicants must have a high attention to detail, high level of numeracy skills and exceptional organisational skills in order to manage a large volume of accounts and prepare them in time for payment due dates.

Full time permanent.

Mon-Fri 8:30am - 5pm

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Invoice and credit card entry into CHEOPS Accounting System
• Preparation of monthly accounts for approval by management including verification of prices, quantities, hours and materials ordered against delivery dockets / timesheets
• Notifying Finance Manager of approved accounts ready for payment.
• Identifying any incorrect charges and corresponding with suppliers to negotiate amendments / credit notes as required.
• Gaining quotations and updating pricelists.
• Assisting Financial Controller in project costing.
• Assisting Financial Controller with financial reporting.
• Preparing and sending Purchase Orders / Notification of Works to subcontractors and suppliers for each project.
• Electronic and hard copy filing of accounts records.
• Monthly credit card statement verification.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience:

• Must have prior experience in accounts payable including handling a large volume of monthly accounts (volume of monthly accounts exceeds 200).

Qualifications: No formal qualifications required.  Accounting qualifications an advantage.

Skills:

- Intermediate MS Office including Word and Excel

- High level of computer literacy and ability to use accounting software and learn new programs 

- High level of numeracy skills

- High level of organisation

- High attention to detail

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- High level of initiative / self-starter

- Confident, friendly and approachable
