The Role
Our client is a leader in their field and are currently looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Officer to join their team on a full time temporary basis with the potential to go permanent after 6 months. The primary purpose of Accounts Payable Officer is to accurately process high volume supplier invoices and reconcile payments to supplier statements. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with great attention to detail, a proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously and as part of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring supplier invoices are validated into the system that matches receipts and purchase orders
- Investigating variances between supplier invoices to receipts and communicating with the relevant department to rectify any issues
- Communicating with suppliers for any claims on damaged or short shipped items in a timely and professional manner
- Providing timely and exceptional service to internal and external customers in all areas of responsibility
- Performing reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensuring all payments are made as per agreed terms
- Ensuring a sound understanding of your role, demonstrating commitment to & comply with all legislation and company policies relevant to your role & all activities undertaken in that role
- Sound understanding and experience within Accounts Payable
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
- Excellent communication both written and oral
- Can build strong rapport/relationships with clients and colleagues
- Able to prioritise and multitask
- Can handle a challenge and keep calm under pressure
