The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with a keen eye for detail to join our team. A key objective of this role is to ensure accurate and efficient data entry, maintenance of employee records, and support processing activities per our service level agreements and clients’ requirements. As the Accounts and Payroll Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Senior Accounts Manager in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for our valued contractors.
This is a full-time position. The right applicant will be encouraged to learn, develop, and move into a more senior role.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting Accounts Receivable and Payable;
- Weekly payroll processing for 40+ employees;
- Assisting payroll checking, identifying, and communicating errors;
- Reconciliations of timesheets, and running reports as required;
- Processing WA Long Service Leave submissions and Superannuation;
- Ensuring employee and system information is correct and maintained;
- Responsible for accurate data entry and inputting information with minimal error;
- Liaisons with various stakeholders, communicated via phone or email in a professional manner; and
- Meeting compliance and company policies, whilst following procedures and accurately meeting deadlines.
In order to be successful in the role you will have:
- Previous experience in payroll or accounts admin, with experience in the mining, civil and/or construction industry;
- Experience using MYOB and its functions is preferred;
- Ability to interpret and adhere to the company EA's, current awards and individual employment contracts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality are of the highest priority;
- A flexible and adaptable approach to change and periodic demands;
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment and autonomously;
- A willingness and desire to learn;
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple priorities;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and listening); and
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quick to learn new systems.
