Surf Life Saving Queensland employs over 550 people throughout Queensland. SLSQ is an efficient and vibrant organisation servicing 35,000 members. It was formally established in 1930 and is the governing body for surf lifesaving in Queensland, comprising 57 affiliated surf lifesaving clubs in six regional branches. The organisation also includes supporters’ clubs and a range of programs that involve more than 462,000 participants. About the Role:
The Accounts & Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing payroll and provide direct support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll administration including onboarding and offboarding employees.
- Responsibility for ensuring employee payroll data is accurate and current in the HRIS (Employment Hero).
- Process and export of time and attendance records from Deputy into the payroll system (Employment Hero).
- Provide reporting, operational and administrative support to the Senior Payroll Officer.
- Back up to the Senior Payroll Officer when on leave.
- Responding to payroll queries received through a shared inbox, phone line or in person.
- Reconciliation of payroll ledger, superannuation, FBT and work cover accounts.
- Compilation of statutory reports such as Child Support, work cover, FBT and ABS surveys as required.
- Assist with processing of Accounts Payable, and provide support to Accounts Receivable as required.
- Provide support during the external audit process.
- Ad hoc projects as required by the Financial Controller.
Required Education & Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in a payroll and accounts role.
- Relevant accounting qualifications (Essential).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication (Essential).
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail (Essential).
- Outstanding organisational skills and time management, with ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet various deadlines (Essential).
- Ability to work autonomously while also providing a high level of support (Essential).
- Working with Children Blue Card (Essential).
