Our Client
u&u are supporting a client, who operate within the professional services sector, and have recently experienced a period of change, creating an opening for an experienced Payroll Officer to assist for an initial three month contract. The role will be based out of our clients' head office in Toowong, where they have free employee parking on site.
The Opportunity
This position will be supporting the existing payroll team of four people, in end to end payroll activities. With existing processes, procedures and systems in place, the fortnightly payroll is efficient, though the organisation are always open to continuous improvement and streamlining. There are about 3,000 employees on the payroll, and the team use Aurion.
Payroll Officer, the key responsibilities will include;
- End-to-end payroll processing for fortnightly employees, including timesheet employees;
- Calculating terminations, managing leave entitlements, and overseeing overtime and related aspects;
- Accurately interpreting and applying relevant industry and business EBAs;
- Setting up new starters and onboarding in the payroll system;
- Maintaining payroll quality and assurance controls by following policies and procedure manuals; and
- Supporting end of financial year activities.
Required Experience
- Minimum three years' experience in a part function payroll position;
- Knowledge of technical payroll activities and compliance related requirements;
- Ability to work collaboratively with the payroll team;
- Ability to pick up new payroll systems; and
- A customer-centric approach to payroll.
