About the Role
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Australia Finance Team in a full time capacity based in our Melbourne office. The role's purpose is to provide effective day to day Accounts Receivable services to ensure timely receipt of payment and low debtor days for the business. The role will be dealing with external Australian based customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Allocate incoming funds to debtors account in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with financial information at hand
- Establish and manage customer credit accounts including the block or release of orders relevant to the settling of the account
- Identify unreconciled or unpaid invoices and liaise with various departments, personnel and customers to ensure payment resolution
- Maintaining customer-related information in the database to display credit history
- Resolve account discrepancies timeously to ensure information is accurate and up to date
- Communicate high risk account immediately to the Finance Manager and actively seek resolution
- Complete filing and administrative duties of Accounts Receivable files and records to ensure information is appropriately stored and easy and fast to retrieve
- Generate customer account statements and assist in providing relevant customer account history to management when required
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly and ad-hoc reports as required
- Proactively following up debtors' outstanding balances to achieve target Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Bachelor's Degree preferrable
- 2 - 4 year's A/R or credit control experience
- Experience in a multinational organisation
- Working knowledge of SAP preferrable
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
