The SDA Newcastle and Northern Branch covers the NSW Central Coast, Newcastle, and Hunter Valley regions. As Australia’s largest private-sector trade Union, we have more than 13,000 members in the Newcastle & Northern Branch, and over 200,000 members nationwide. Members work in the retail, fast food, and warehouse industries. Approximately half of our members are young people under the age of 25 years.
About the Role:
This is a 38 hour per week permanent full-time position that reports to the Director of Support Services and provides administration support to the office and field staff of the SDA Newcastle & Northern.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Data entry and update and maintain membership and other basic records.
- Maintain efficient administrative processes and practices.
- Respond to general enquiries over the phone, email and in person.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to all internal and external staff, including filing, typing, photocopying and greeting guests.
- Timely and accurate processing of membership contributions.
- Generate reports from the CRM system as required.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven Administration assistant experience
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Previous experience with Salesforce CRM System (desirable but not essential) or an equivalent CRM database or platform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
