Salary- Rate: $36.40p/h casual rate
- Hours: 7am to 3.30pm Mondays & 7 to 3pm Tuesday to Friday.
- Some over time through the week - paid at OT rate.
The operation of the Hatchery involves receiving fertile eggs from the commercial farms or hatcheries, production and dispatch of day-old chicks, maintenance of the Hatchery and equipment, meeting
customer chick quality requirements and meeting legislative and regulatory requirements related to the operation of a poultry Hatchery.
Your new Role:
The position of Hatchery Administration Officer is primarily responsible for assisting the Hatchery Manager in the operation of a commercial Hatchery in all aspects. Reporting to the Hatchery Manager with functional direction from the Regional Livestock Manager, Hatchery Supervisor and Hatchery leading hand and direct working relationship with all other staff.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Ability to work in a team environment to resolve problems or improve systems
- Previous experience/knowledge of Quality System including SQF HACCP, Environmental
- Systems, Workplace Health and Safety and Chain of Responsibility policies.
- Awareness in relation to how activities and processes could impact local residents and the
- environment
- Good computer skills
- Competency in using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Self-organiser and able to work unsupervised
- Previous administration skills in keying data and preparing reports to strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience in the organisation and implementation of training programs
- Quick response time
