About the opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Administration Assistant to join our Corporate Counsel section on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is primarily responsible to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Corporate Counsel, and other Senior Executive staff.
Duties include:
- Complete secretarial and administrative duties in a timely and accurate basis
- Prepare reports, correspondence, memorandums etc. through the provision of word processing services to the Corporate Counsel and senior staff
- Assist with preparation of the legal budget
- Filter Corporate Counsel’s incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure clerical functions such as orders, cheque requisitions, petty cash etc. are coordinated and controlled
- Assist with the collection of performance measurement information for the preparation of quarterly reviews.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Certificate III in a related field e.g. Business Administration or Legal
- Solid administrative experience.
Desirable:
- Legal related qualifications and experience
- Class “C” Driver's Licence
- Extensive experience in the use of various computer applications MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to communication and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,308.84 per week
- 35-hour working week
