Admin Officer - Casual
An Aurora Healthcare and Medibank partnership, Deakin Private Hospital is a 52-bed hospital, with group therapy rooms and doctors consulting suites for the treatment of patients with Mental Health issues.
iMH hospitals provides an innovative model of patient care which will allow private patients to receive the right care in the right location at the right time. Services include overnight admissions, a day only hospital, group therapy programs and a hospital in the home service model. Visiting Psychiatrists credentialed at hospital will be supported by a Care Coordinator to support clinical care and continuity across the service streams.
The position
The role of the Administration Officer is to effectively coordinate a comprehensive customer-focused service to both internal and external customers.
Communicating and liaising with staff, doctors, department managers, consumers, carers, and the general public is a significant part of the role.
Key duties:
- Responsible for the effective administrative functions of the assigned area.
- Provide general administrative support including ordering of stationery, answering phone enquires, photocopying, typing, filing, faxing to enable health professionals and medical staff to meet their objectives and deliver services to patients.
- Complete health fund checks for all pre-admitted patients.
- Admit and discharge patients recording all relevant information, ensuring it is accurate and current.
- Organise material for allocated units, including patient record retrieval.
- Maintain and coordinate clinical resource documentation and manuals as required.
- Liaise with externals service providers as required to arrange patient appointments.
- Multiskill in other Administration duties to cover leave as required.
Casual with opportunity to progress to part time.

Essential Criteria:
- Experience as an administrative assistant in a healthcare setting is highly regarded.
- Demonstrate experience in data entry and management, record maintenance, requests for information and quality improvement.
- Well-developed skills in the use of Microsoft applications, and other information databases.
- Knowledge of or an ability to acquire knowledge of WebPAS patient management system and Cyberquery.
- Have a positive attitude and exceptional customer services skills.
- Possess the capability to work autonomously, responsibly and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.

- It is mandatory for all iMH employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza.
