The Women’s Legal Centre is a specialist community legal centre dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services to women, with a focus on those experiencing and at risk of violence, discrimination and systemic disadvantage. We enhance the lives of women and their children by providing legal support and advocacy, as well as social work and cultural supports in the areas of family law, family violence, employment, discrimination, sexual harassment, migration and sexual violence. We have a specialist program Mulleun Mura, run by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Through our multi-disciplinary team we provide wrap-around support using trauma-informed and collaborative service models. WLC operates partnerships with community organisations, including ACT Government Child and Family Centres, CIT and Domestic Violence Crisis Service.
About the positionThe Finance and Administrative Officer provides key support to the Corporate Services Team in the whole range of financial and administrative functions. The role also serves as a backup for Client Services Coordinator in managing the flow of visitors into the office.
Key tasks & responsibilities- support CEO with calendar management
- general administrative assistance for Corporate Support Team
- Support for governance, board and committee meetings
- performing basic bookkeeping, assistance with payroll and month end processing
- assistance with day to day running of the Centre including undertaking procurement and liaising with facility manager in relation to building maintenance & repairs
- assistance with onboarding of new staff booking staff training
- You are a self starter
- You show initiative and you are ready to hit the ground running and willing to learn new skills
