About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital Medico Legal team are seeking an approachable, dedicated and adaptable Administration Officer to assist their office.

For this role you will be a customer service superstar. The role requires you to provide receptionist duties in a high volume fast paced environment. You will be a great multitasker and have outstanding communication skills. The role works with a diverse range of stakeholders including patients, funeral homes, police departments and the wider healthcare team, meaning you will be able to adapt your communication skills to your client base.

Bringing your previous experience to the role, you will have a general understanding of medical terminology and be ready to learn in the role. We are looking for a fast learner who is looking to grow and develop their skills in the role to become an integral part of the team. You will be working with a great team who are highly supportive and ready to see you flourish in the role.

Where You’ll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

Previous clerical experience in a health or legal environment.
Completion of medical terminology course or willingness to complete course.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, and demonstrate excellent team skills.
Effective organisation and communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with difficult customers.
Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure accuracy in a high volume environment.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to problem solve, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and adapt to a changing environment.
A good understanding of legislation regarding release of information and privacy.
Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of computerised patient administration systems including electronic medical record systems.
