Administration Officer - Timetabling Operations Apply now Job no: 499571 Work type: Full time Location: Hobart, Launceston, Burnie Categories: Administration, Student Services Administration Officer - Timetabling Operations Responsibility for complex operational timetabling activities Provide support for student timetabling enquiries Full time ongoing position based in Launceston - other campuses considered for ideal candidate Challenging, student focused role within a supportive team environment About the opportunity The Administration Officer - Timetabling Operations plays a critical role delivering enhanced student experience and student centricity with a primary responsibility for the provision of Timetabling Operations as part of the Learning and Teaching Operations Team in the Schools of Nursing and Health Sciences within the College of Health and Medicine. With responsibility for operational timetabling activities the role operates at the interface between students, teaching activities and University systems and is integral to the delivery teaching across both Schools by ensuring teaching activities align with course and unit scheduling and that allocation of activities produces an effective and efficient timetable for staff and students that optimises resource and aligns with unit and professional experience requirements. The role also provides support for student timetabling processes in relation to class allocation and in responding to and resolving student timetabling enquiries. What you’ll do: Responsible for collecting and analysing data, integrating information and utilising timetabling systems to produce and provide timetabling allocations, priorities and constraints. Respond effectively and in a timely fashion to a wide range of student timetabling enquiries in a student-centred, solution focused and efficient manner. Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through annual review cycles, by identifying and implementing opportunities for self, team and process improvement. Provide interpretation and advice and make decisions and recommendation to academic and professional staff, and students to ensure consistent, high level timetabling outputs. Working closely with Academic Scheduling and academic staff, conduct investigations and recommend and implement variations within and outside published timetables. Under the guidance of the Executive Officer, Learning and Teaching Operations develop, implement and maintain timetabling procedural, reference and training documentation. What we’re looking for: Completion of a diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Extensive administrative experience and the ability to take responsibility for initiating, developing, implementing, and evaluating administrative processes within a complex organisation. Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective and outcome-focused partnerships. High level organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure and prioritise tasks in a complex and ever-changing work environment. Highly developed oral, written, and analytical skills, along with the ability to extract, analyse and integrate information from multiple sources, solve problems and think flexibly to develop solutions.
