  • Remuneration: $96,960 - $103,434 + 17% super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington Campus, Sydney (Hybrid Flexible Working)

Nura Gili: Centre for Indigenous Programs is our student-facing services, programs and study facility. Nura Gili offers study spaces and meeting places for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and researchers.

Our team provides pathways for prospective Indigenous students to study in all UNSW faculties and programs. We also have a dedicated team who work to enhance the student experience for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, across student success, tutoring, workshops and events.

Why Your Role Matters:

The Administration Officer plays a key role within the Operations team at Nura Gili Centre for Indigenous Programs in coordinating and managing the general administration. You will be responsible for providing support to the Centre Manager and team for the smooth running of operational aspects, including financial and human resources, IT, physical facilities, occupational health and safety and compliance with all relevant University policies and procedures and government legislation.

Who You Are:

To be successful in the role, it’s desirable you will have experience working in higher education and:

  • Knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Indigenous Australian cultures and contemporary issues. (Experience working with Indigenous students is desirable).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to manage accounts and run financial reports to assist with budgeting and high-level reporting.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information, interpret and analyse data with demonstrated capacity to process financial transactions timely and accurately.
  • Ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate projects and tasks with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and databases, educational technologies and digital platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to work effectively within multi-disciplinary team. Show tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.

Special Requirements:

  • Occasional weekend and after-hour work in regional, remote and interstate as required.
  • Ability and willingness to attend functions and events outside of normal working hours.
