The Role
Administrative Service Manager is responsible for the oversight, planning, organising, directing, development, and coordination of the daily efficient and effective administrative support services to all areas across Surgical and Perioperative Services. This includes:
Manage the day-to-day delivery responsibilities of the administrative staff that support the Surgical & Perioperative Services, Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).
Build and maintain a team of administrative staff including coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and ensuring duties operate efficiently and effectively across the areas within Surgical & Perioperative Services.
Provide advice and input into improving and implementing processes for the administrative management of Surgical & Perioperative Services including health information, patient coordination and billing.
Participate in operational change management processes relating to system upgrades and changes, troubleshooting system issues, maintaining staff access and provide staff education and training.
The Team and Site:
This position is the direct report for the vast range of administrative staff across the Surgical and Perioperative stream. This includes Administrative Officers, Administrative Assistants and Perioperative Precinct Clerks.
Providing daily guidance, support and management to staff across both Surgical and Perioperative precincts to ensure a smooth-running service.
Located within the Surgical Services Offices RHH, managing SPS administrative staff located hospital wide.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term, part time day worker position, working 70 hours per fortnight, commencing from April 2024 for approximately ten (10) months.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary
$95,393 - $100,067 pro rata per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Eligibility
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
Certificate III in Business Administration or similar
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

crimes involving dishonesty.
