About the role:
Leading the Advanced Analytics team, you'll be helping us to secure WA's water future. Your team will gather and analyse data from 7 business units and 50 different functions. Under your leadership, they'll help optimise the operations of our water, wastewater, drainage, and customer engagement in the most cost-effective and sustainable approach.
The way you apply a data and scientific lens to business tactics and strategy will help to minimise tension between change, cost, performance, and innovation. How you manage the data analytics product lifecycle will give you a deeper understanding of people and common problems, balancing various priorities so everyone experiences a positive outcome.
Your team will gather and analyse data that develops the way our business thinks and works. You believe in finding a better way because you've applied mathematical models to complex issues before and you've developed solutions that changed people's hearts, minds and lives.
Your approach to leadership is without question. You'll be inspiring your team to solve problems with data through building data roadmaps, suggesting recommendations to stakeholders, while developing proof of value and managing your portfolio of live data products.

About you:
There are a few things that we'll look for in your CV;
You'll have a degree in data science, computer science, management information systems, or a related field. Throughout your career you will have gained extensive experience with client / business relationship management as the functional go-to person with multiple business partners from a data analytics or equivalent perspective.
You'll have experience leading a team, and be experienced in data product management, agile project delivery or customer experience functions working within an innovative product development environment.
What the role will involve
- Lead and manage a technical team of Data Science and Advanced Analytics specialists to develop, maintain and support operational data products ensuring their continued relevance and value to business.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to identify and prioritise strategic and tactical business needs in relation to Advanced Analytics and data science.
- Manages the data product lifecycle from idea to production to ensure that business decisions are continually optimised through the leverage of data.
- Manage the team's capacity across new product development, enhancements, production maintenance and support, enablement, and continuous improvement to optimise the value of the team's delivery pipeline for the Corporation.
- With support from your team, provide technical leadership and mentoring to the business within subject matter expertise and innovation through the introduction of new technology.
- Identify, align and implement Data Science and Advanced Analytics emerging trends, methods and practices.
