About the role
The Government & Executive Services Advisor is part of a dynamic team that delivers effective government relations and communications support to WorkSafe Victoria. Working with limited direction, you will be responsible for delivering a broad portfolio of work. Key Accountabilities include:
- Research, coordinate and prepare appropriate responses in the form of high quality briefings, correspondence, meeting papers etc. for senior executives and the Minister whilst, ensuring consistency in messaging, alignment with business objectives and quality and accuracy of outputs.
- Provide critical analysis, and strategic and timely advice, including anticipating problems and contributing to issues management to support the Manager, Government and Executive Services and the wider team.
- Responding to ad hoc requests from varying sources in a timely and efficient manner which may include liaison with varying departments and stakeholders.

About you
You are a proactive and perceptive operator, with an eye for detail and the ability to take a challenge and run with it whilst working on multiple tasks with tight deadlines. You are a true team player who can support your colleagues whilst working simultaneously on your tasks. You have exceptional relationship building and stakeholder management skills. In addition, you will also possess:
- Proven experience in preparing concise briefing documents, correspondence, presentations and reports to a professional standard.
- The ability to react quickly, identify and solve blocks and challenges in a time critical environment.
- A proactive approach and the ability to research and interpret information/data from a range of sources.
- The ability to provide timely and accurate advice to management on reputational, policy, Government and political issues.
- A tertiary qualification in a related field is highly desirable (i.e. Business, Policy, Communications, Law, Economics etc.)
