- Monitoring personal exposure (airborne contaminants, noise) as per our asset risk based monitoring plans and conducting associated data reporting.
- Educating, communicating and engaging with site leaders and operational personnel.
- Managing and coordinating the maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment to NATA and Rio Tinto standards.
- Conducting on site fit testing and health surveillance activities (audiometric and lung function testing), interpreting results and investigating anomalies.
- Recommending key control methods (considering the hierarchy of control) for Occupational Hygiene risk reduction and evaluate control effectiveness.
- Undertaking potable water and legionella monitoring, facilitating Occupational Hygiene workplace surveys and investigating situations of occupational over-exposure.
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset
- Degree qualification in Science and experience as an Occupational Hygiene Technician with certifications in Surface Ventilation Officer and Noise Officer.
- Experience with incident investigations and risk assessment techniques.
- Ability to work autonomously with strong communication, engagement and influencing skills.
- Membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH)
- Experience conducting health surveillance activities (audiometric and lung function testing)
- Experience conducting RPD and HPD fit-testing.
