Position Description
In a key leadership role and reporting to the Director of Nursing, the After Hours Coordinator (AHC) is responsible for the effective coordination and management of safe and quality care in the Acute clinical setting, incorporating Urgent Care on a shift by shift basis, and is responsible for the operational functioning of the hospital in the off duty period of the Director of Nursing.
To be suitable for the role you must have:
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience of acute clinical areas, such as medical, surgical, maternity and Urgent Care.
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff and resources
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to create and maintain a healthy and safe place for patients and staff in compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Ability to work across all shifts including night duty and weekends
- Demonstrated knowledge of statutory obligations especially in relation to Safe Patient Care Act and Medical Planning Treatment and Decisions Act
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Competent in Advanced Life Support and IV Cannulation
