YHAC strives to improve the wellness and health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our communities within Ceduna and the surrounding areas. YHAC also operate a fully accredited 24-hour residential Aged Care facility.
Aged Care Support Worker
An exciting opportunity for Aged Care Support Workers has become available within YHAC. The Aged Care Support Workers are critical in providing residents with care and support to ensure that they have a safe, clean, comfortable, and secure living environment.
This is a great opportunity to join a well-operated Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in the beautiful beach side rural location of Ceduna. Positions are available for those who have a passion for Aged Care and who would care for our residents as though they were their own loved ones.
Working Arrangements:
- 6-month probationary period
- Part time and Casual Opportunities
- All positions work across a variety of shifts including Day, Afternoon, Night
- Paid in accordance with YHAC Enterprise Agreement
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience in working with Aboriginal People and Communities
- You will possess as a minimum Certificate III in Ageing. If not, it will be mandatory for you to undertake study to obtain during your probationary period
- Have a great attitude and strong work ethic in addition to the ability to work as part of a team, displaying passion about the role
- High level of written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and the community
- Demonstrate ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands including sound level of numeracy and demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and community
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy when required, exercise tact and initiate sound judgement when required, whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Current National Police Clearance/Screening Check
- DHS Aged Screening & WWCC
- Evidence of Covid 1, 2 & Booster Vaccinations
