The Role
Join our Operational Technology Team at George Fisher Mine.
Your key responsibilities as a Mining Data Analyst your focus is on the delivery of sustainable operational business reporting and analytics capability to support Mount Isa Mining. The role works closely with the business and technology providers to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. The role will provide data that is accurate, timely, congruent, and reliable and is easily accessible. This role would be on a 5243 work roster, 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off.
Your Responsibilities would include:
- Develops end-user reporting
- Applies data analysis, design, and modelling techniques to establish, modify or maintain a data structure and its associated components
- Develops appropriate physical database or data warehouse design elements, within set policies
- Integrates disparate production data sources into Data warehouse for mining systems such as Modular Dispatch Underground, Sandvik Automine, Pi Historian, Deswik, Gallagher, etc.
- Scope, design & develop business reporting, dashboards and analytics
- Use statistical and other quantitative techniques to ensure that business objectives are aligned with business strategy and performance
- Analyse organizational performance using measurement and performance data to determine performance improvement needs.
- Administration and maintenance of databases environments
- A degree in Information Systems & Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or related field.
- Microsoft Certified Professional certifications or equivalent highly desirable
- Skills in data analysis, SQL and data mining
- Exposure to site wide reporting environments
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing environments
- Proficiency in working with coding and data visualisation languages and tools such as SSRS, Power BI Report Server/Service, DAX, Power Query, Python or similar.
- Experience working with operational datasets within the Mining Industry advantageous
- Ability to work across teams and departments.
- Ability to break down complex systems into key components and explain these to non-technical staff
