Public Sector People, in partnership with a leading state government department, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Program Officer (Administrator) to join a crucial project team. This is a full-time temporary contract position with an expected duration until June 29, 2025.
Key Responsibilities: As a Program Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress, implementing best practice guidelines and processes for consistent and quality outcomes.
- Establishing optimal administration measures by monitoring project plans, budgets, supporting tasks, records, and registers in accordance with the project lifecycle and program management practices.
- Supporting the identification of risks, issues, and constraints, and developing strategies to overcome challenges.
- Communicating with influence and using interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a complex and changing environment.
- Preparing complex and sensitive reports, briefings, policy papers, submissions, and other documentation for senior departmental management and other stakeholders.
- Collecting information from diverse stakeholders to assist in preparing high-level and timely advice on emergent issues requiring innovative and targeted responses.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of political, human resource, and financial pressures impacting service delivery and recommending courses of action for agreed program outcomes.
- Collaborating with departmental staff in managing communication and information activities to synthesize program outcomes.
- Participating as an effective team member, working collaboratively with other team members and key stakeholder groups across the program.
- Developing and maintaining systems for effective monitoring and reporting of program activities.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses:
- Proven effective written and oral communication skills for a complex program/project environment.
- Highly desirable but not mandatory: Understanding of MSP, PRINCE2, PMBOK, or other methodologies.
- Mandatory: "C" class driver's license.
