APS Recruitment has several expected and upcoming vacancies for individuals who can see themselves as Recruitment Professionals. APS Recruitment is reforming and changing the way recruitment is conducted within Defence so the roles vary in nature and will have a focus on:
- Operations Management: Working closely with colleagues across APS Recruitment and broader department, the position plays a pivotal part in supporting the key objectives of performance, productivity, collaboration, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement. Additionally, the position is responsible for providing management oversight and support to the APS5 Team Leaders and APS4 Recruitment Officers as well as providing support to customers and stakeholders with complex issues or escalated recruitment matters.
- Business Improvement, Strategy & Solutions: With an emphasis being placed on education, integrity, assurance and communication we are seeking individuals within this team to support key projects that will have a significant impact on business areas and the broader department to ensure best practice and compliant recruitment is undertaken within Defence. Team members will have an opportunity to work on key reform and attraction strategies in the APS Recruitment space including but not limited to: governance, integrity and assurance, education, communications, business improvement and specialist attraction and recruitment advice and programs.

Our Ideal Candidate
Whilst it is desirable to have previous experience in Recruitment and eRecruit, our focus is on engaging candidates who are able to demonstrate that they can learn the content of the role and outline how their existing skills and capabilities are transferrable to Defence. Specifically we are looking for candidates who have the following skills:
- Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising teams, including managing remote teams.
- Have experience forecasting work and assigning resources to meet workload.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to build productive working relationships.
- Customer Service focused with ability to listen and adapt message to suit audience needs.
- Familiarisation with reading, interpreting and applying policy and legislation to process decisions.
