Randstad are proud to currently be partnering with a well recognised Federal Department in assisting to recruit for an APS6 Events Officer

The Events team at the Agency encompasses four key functions that cover event management and support, third-party events and expos and executive and ministerial event support. This service offer enables the Agency to deliver impactful and successful events while fostering internal and external connections and advancing the interests of the Agency.

About the role:

The Senior Events Officer is a pivotal role with the Agency. With the potential to work across the team's service offer, this position requires a skilled professional with a strong background in event management, capable of planning, executing, and evaluating a diverse range of events to ensure their success.

As the Senior Event Officer, you will be at the forefront of event planning and organisation, playing a crucial role in shaping Agency's presence in industry summits, conferences, workshops, seminars, and forums. With a focus on delivering exceptional experiences, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align event objectives with the Agency's goals, ensuring that

You will be responsible for:

  • Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability, high level understanding and knowledge of disability, and its impact on individuals.
  • Relevant experience in event management, preferably in a large organisation setting.
  • Proficiency in using MS Teams in a hybrid event environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and management, ensuring events comply with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks.
  • Able to negotiate effectively by listening differing ideas and views to develop a clear understanding of the issues, and to present persuasive counterarguments.

Key skills required for role/s:

  • Budget management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Desirable skills to have for the role/s:

  • Experience working with EventsAir
  • Experience working with MS Teams in a digital event environment.
  • Risk assessment and management experience.
