APS6 Finance Officer, 12 month contract, $60.26 per hour, ASAP start

About the Opportunity

This role is a 12 month contract based opportunity with a high chance of renewal. A flexible, hybrid work environment ensures a great work-life balance - this is a Geelong based position and requires some time spent in office. This is a full time position open to Australian Citizens only.

About the Role

The Finance Branch is responsible for the financial management of the Agency and Scheme, and provides insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making.

Key accountabilities include producing audited annual financial statements, the Annual Report, budgets, monthly financial reports and forecasts. The branch manage the maintenance and development of finance systems, analysing financial performance, and providing financial advice to support decision making and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. They provide financial reports and advice to support the business manage its group, division and branch level budgets.

Responsibilities

• Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
• Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
• Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
• Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
• Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast.
• Undertaking financial administration and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.
