The Opportunity
Our Federal Government Client requires the services for and experienced Financial/Asset Accountant (APS6) support various levels to deliver a range of financial activities. The role is responsible in providing leadership to the Financial Reporting and Treasury and building productive working relationships across the Department. The role provides the opportunity to work across government bringing together a broad suite of skills, including strategic policy, regulatory reform, data and digital strategy, human-centred design, business engagement, program management, and corporate support.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience with accounting systems similar to SAP, TM1, P2P, TRIM, or the ability to quickly acquire the skills to successfully navigate and use the system
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in your area of expertise, enhancing the capability of a team.
- Supported and promote a customer focused, respectful and supportive workplace culture
- Undertake financial and asset accounting processes.
- Ensure financial compliance with accounting regulations.
- Undertake Treasury functions.
- Support the month end process.
- Undertake payment runs.
- Prepare journals and reconciliations.
- Undertake credit card administrative processes.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement in business practices in financial and administrative policies, procedures and practices.
- Contribute to a highly skilled and qualified finance network and delivering independent, trusted advice to key stakeholders.
- Working arrangements – flexible (surge capacity).
Candidates require Australian Citizenship and a current Baseline clearance, or the ability to obtain one before the 7th March 2024
