Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Procurement and Contracts Officer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 12 months
Rate: $60.26/Hourly (excluding super)
Eligibility:Australian Citizenship
About the Role:
The APS6 Procurement Officer is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
The APS6 Procurement Officer is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex problems.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Working collaboratively with the Agency business areas as a procurement business partner to establish appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
- Managing and undertaking procurement reporting and verification activities, and processing procurements through the financial management system.
- Maintaining and implementing Procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Contributing to procurement planning activities within the wider Procurement Team and across the Agency.
- Providing specialist procurement advice and ensuring that the Agency’s procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Agency’s Procurement Policy to deliver value for money outcomes that contribute to better social and economic outcomes for people with disability.
- Providing quality and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including guidance, and reporting to the Branch Leadership, and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Monitoring and progressing work area activities to achieve work area objectives, ensuring consistent and high-quality outputs, and maintaining team cohesion.
Capabilities:
- Providing specialist procurement advice to nominated business areas.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret policy and legislation.
- Demonstrated experience developing procurement documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
- Managing related procurement reporting and ensuring appropriate records management
- Ability to contribute to team professional development.
Key skills required for role:
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated government procurement experience.
- Leadership skills at APS6 work level standard.
