You will join the Central Procurement and Contracting Team, which provides professional high-quality procurement and contract management support and advice to the Executive and the Department’s business divisions to enable them to deliver their respective programs and activities, in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and related policy and guidance.

There is a vacancy for an APS6 Procurement Officer to join the Department. This is an opportunity to:

If you are currently a permanent APS staff member, you can be engaged on a permanent or temporary s26 transfer. Otherwise, you can be engaged on a 12-month non-ongoing contract basis.
 
The Role

Your duties will include the following:

• Provide specialist procurement and contract management advice to business areas in line with legislative requirements
• Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders such as Divisions, AusTender Helpdesk, and other Commonwealth agencies
• Monitor and respond to helpdesk enquiries
• Review and publish procurement and approach to market documentation in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other legislative requirements
• Coordinate statutory procurement related reporting
• Undertake AusTender publishing and AusTender upkeep in relation to panels and other administrative requirements
• Quality assurance of procurement registrations through the Department’s Financial Management Information System 

The Ideal Person

The successful candidate will have procurement experience in a Commonwealth government environment.
 
You will also have:

• Understanding of the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules
• Ability to proactively engage with stakeholders to provide accurate and timely advice on procurement and contract management enquiries
• Ability to analyse procurement and contract management issues and effectively communicate advice to others in a way which is persuasive and appropriate to the audience
• Ability to manage competing priorities and changing timeframes in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships

Salary / Rate

• $88,466 - $99,155 + 15.4% super, or salary match for permanent s26 transfer
• If you are currently a permanent APS staff member, you can be engaged on a permanent or temporary s26 transfer. Otherwise, you can be engaged on a 12-month non-ongoing contract basis
• Office located in Canberra city
