Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Program Officer on a contract.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: Non-ongoing or S26 transfer (ASAP till 31st December 2024, possible 1 x 6-month extension)

Department/Division Overview:
The Territories Division administers Australia’s self-governing and non-self-governing territories. We support vital infrastructure and essential services for the approximately 5,000 Australian citizens living in Norfolk Island (NI), the Indian Ocean Territories (IOTs) and the Jervis Bay Territory (JBT).
The Norfolk Island Service Arrangements Team provide oversight and advice on the delivery of local and state-type services on Norfolk Island through facilitating service agreements with various stakeholders from State and Commonwealth Government and Private enterprises.
We are looking for a candidate that can:
- Assist with the management of relationships between Department representatives and external stakeholders, and liaise with stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare briefs, senate estimates, minister briefings, questions on notice and freedom of information requests
- Request, coordinate and consolidate input from across government to develop advice for Senior Executives and the Minister
- Manage procurement and contract management, monthly reporting and accruals, forecasting, movement of funds and provide input into the Commonwealth budget process
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of wider agency policies and objectives
- Provide high quality secretariat services, including logistical coordination of meetings, the preparation of complex papers and detailed and accurate minute taking
- Demonstrate strategic thinking and policy development in a unique policy environment
- Travel interstate on occasion as required
